Koufax the Colossal

Describing a Koufax pitch, the batter offered advice to the next hitter: “You can’t see the ball; you just have to go by the sound.” Later, sadly, Sanford “Sandy” Koufax, a Jewish boy from Brooklyn, retired at 30.  His left arm, the envy of every schoolboy and the bane of every major league hitter, was shot and a career that many considered the greatest ever by a left-handed pitcher was over. We will cover the highlights and the quiet, private moments of this humble man.   Instructor: Steven Mutart
